So, this is my development tumblr for what I’ve been referring to on twitter as my #illicitgameproject (not to be confused with my #supersekkritproject, which is something else entirely).

This devlog itself is kind of an experiment for me. I don’t usually talk about my weird projects too extensively (usually out of a sense of perfectionism, and in case something goes horribly wrong. However, as I write this, it’s 3am, and I’ve been struck by a weird sense of candidness.

So, the game. I’ve previously alluded to it in my “Proust Was A Game Designer” blog post over at Mitu.nu - and in fact, you should read the ramblings over there as a kind of prelude to all of this, but here are the screenshots I posted there.

To be honest, there has not been a great deal of progress since that post, but that is another reason for this devlog: to give me a much-needed kick up the arse.

So the game, then. It’s intended purpose is as a sort of self-expression; and, because, quite simply, I wanted to make something that feels beautiful. That’ll be easy, I’m sure. Ahem. Given that, I will not talk too extensively about the themes in the games themselves, though as I’ll be posting here, you may piece much of it together. The goal is, however, that it won’t really make sense until you play it.
